Kountry Kitchen: Kapaʻa Breakfast Since 1975

If you ask ten locals where to get breakfast on the East Side, you'll hear one name over and over: Kountry Kitchen. I came to this place the first time I visited in 1987. It's always great comfort food. This Kapaʻa institution has been serving brunch on Kuhio Highway since 1975 — 50 years of pancakes and counting.

What to order

The legend here is the plate-sized Macadamia Nut Pancakes with house-made coconut syrup — order them with bananas and thank us later. The Kalua Pork Eggs Benedict puts a Kauai spin on a brunch classic, the corned beef hash is made in-house, and the giant stuffed omelettes live up to the name. Loco moco and Portuguese sausage round out the local side of the menu.

Big portions, local flavors, and a room that's been full for five decades. Some things are popular for a reason.
